 Is the 12-Month Tourism Vision Becoming a Reality?

Alanya is redrawing its tourism route. Not just sea-sand-sun (3S); it’s now becoming a vibrant destination for 12 months of the year. The steps being taken are directed toward this vision. Behind this transformation lies “a strong vision” and “successful collaborations.”

Sports Tourism at the Peak

Beach Pro Volley Alanya Challenge proved our city’s sports tourism potential to the entire world. The organisation held at the International Beach Sports Centre attracted great interest from both locals and tourists. This success is no coincidence; it’s the first fruit of Alanya’s sports tourism strategy.

Bigger things are coming: The European Beach Handball Championship will be held in Alanya. Prestigious events like triathlon races and Ultra marathons are also taking their place in the calendar. Each successful organisation elevates our city’s brand value one step higher.

Culture and Arts Convergence

The Jazz Festival is expanding. Musical sounds echo in our historical venues. We used to enviously follow the music concerts held on the shores of “Lake Como.” Now in Alanya, every corner from Kaleiçi to Kızılkule is meeting with art. Event diversity is increasing; public participation is rising in parallel.

This rich program is taking Alanya beyond being just a summer destination. It provides reasons for tourists to come during winter months as well. For the first time at the Alanya International Culture and Arts Festival, an internationally renowned group took the stage: Gipsy Kings.

The Power Behind Success

As a result of ALTAV’s activities, flights from new destinations are starting. This situation creates great gains for our tourism sector. Alanya is literally cutting its own umbilical cord. The collaboration between Alanya Municipality, ALTID, ALTAV, ALTSO, and TÜRSAB is yielding wonderful results.

All NGOs have understood the importance of cooperation. In a short time, Europe’s most beautiful zero-carbon beach sports centre was built together in Alanya. And in a very short time too. Mayor Tarık Osman Özçelik’s strong support and unifying vision appear to be weaving Alanya’s brand value stitch by stitch.

However, one of the architects of this success is also the vision of Presidential Advisor and ALTAV Vice President Abdurrahman Açıkalın. Together with the energetic contribution of ALTAV management, Alanya is strengthening its position on the tourism map and differentiating itself positively from other destinations in Turkey.

The recent Alanya Challenge Beach Pro declared: “Alanya does Turkey’s best.” More than three thousand spectators watched the final matches. At least a thousand people couldn’t find seats. This is unprecedented.

Running Toward the Future

Alanya is no longer just a place to visit in summer. It’s becoming and will become a destination that lives and breathes for 12 months. It’s making a difference with sports tourism, culture-arts events, and strong organisational capability.

The increasing event calendar each passing day, rising public participation, and strengthening institutional collaborations shed light on Alanya’s future. Our brand value is rising, our recognition is increasing.

Where is Alanya running?

Toward one of Turkey’s most dynamic tourism centres. And in this race, our most important advantage is our visionary leaders and strong unity.

The target is clear: 12-month tourism.

The route is ready: Events and sports tourism. The success formula is evident: Strong cooperation and determined steps.

Of course, this is a beginning.

The goal is clear: Strategic planning, purified from politics, brings success.
