The Alanya International Piano Competition and Festival will be held on October 18-19, 2024, at the ALTSO Conference and Meeting Hall.
The best pianists of Alanya will be announced at the “International Alanya Piano Competition and Festival” organized in cooperation with Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) and Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO).
While Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) continues to touch the cultural, economic and social life of the city with the programs and events it organizes, the best pianists will be announced at the “International Alanya Piano Competition and Festival” organized by Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO). With all the income to be obtained from the competition and festival to be held on May 18-19, the pianos to be purchased for the Science and Art Centers in the cities affected by the February 6 earthquakes will be donated on behalf of Alanya. Applications for the competition will be made via https://pianofest.alanya.edu.tr/ web address. The jury members of the competition will consist of world-renowned Hande Dalkılıç, Ferid Adıgüzelzade, Nazile Adıgüzelzade, and Prof. Dr. S. The Competition and Festival aims to provide young pianists from Alanya with the opportunity to perform the works they have studied on the piano, to communicate with each other, and to meet and work with renowned pianists in Turkey and the world.
APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL APRIL 30TH
The International Alanya Piano Competition and Festival will take place on May 18-19, 2024, at the ALTSO Conference and Meeting Hall. The competition has three categories – A, B, and C – and the participants can apply until April 30. Category A is for young pianists aged 6-8, Category B is for those aged 9-11, and Category C is for those aged 12-14. The competition will award first, second, and third place in each category. The event will consist of a competition, festival, and masterclass. The festival has no age restrictions, and the pianists can perform a piece for a maximum of 3 minutes. The masterclass program will take place on May 17, 2024, at the ALKU Faculty of Education, in the Prof. Dr. Ali Uçan Music classroom. All pianists who participate in the competition and festival can attend the masterclass sessions held by the jury members free of charge.
RECTOR TÜRKDOĞAN AND PRESIDENT ERDEM INVITE MUSIC LOVERS
ALKU Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan emphasized that the International Alanya Piano Competition and Festival is a very valuable event for Alanya. Emphasizing that they will continue cultural activities as ALKU, Rector Türkdoğan said, “I invite all pianists to the competition and festival we will organize with ALTSO. This event will be more than a competition, it will be a great touch to the cultural life of our cities, which suffered great damage in the February 6 earthquakes. While the competition will determine the best pianists in our region, it will also reveal the value our Alanya gives to culture and art. I would like to thank the organizers and participants of the competition and wish success to the competitors.”
Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Eray Erdem said that they are very pleased to be a stakeholder of such an important organization. President Erdem invited all piano artists to the festival and said, “We are happy to organize a piano competition and festival in cooperation with our university and also to sign a new cooperation. In addition to the work we do for the economy of our Alanya, we will continue to support cultural projects that support such art and artists.”
