Exhibition and Competition
Alanya Municipality will lead the Alanya Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe Equipment, and Out-of-Home Consumption Fair and the 8th Gastro Alanya International Cooking Competition. The event will take place between February 5th and 7th.
The Municipality of ALANYA is dedicated to developing the city in all areas, ranging from agriculture to commerce, tourism, and gastronomy. As part of this effort, the municipality organized the Alanya Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe Equipment, and Out-of-Home Consumption Fair from February 5th to February 7th at the Friday Market Multi-Purpose Fair and Event Center. The event was led by Başak Fuarcılık and included the 8th Gastro Alanya, hosted by the Municipality of Alanya and the Altın Kepçe Tourism and Chefs Association. The Gastro Alanya event will feature an international cooking competition. Details of the fair and the food competition were shared during the launch at the Alanya Cultural Center.
Pioneer Municipality
Mayor Yücel announced that Alanya will be hosting its first-ever fair. He emphasized the significance of gastronomy in tourism and explained that Alanya has been a member of the European Culinary Heritage since 2015 and is now the World Culinary Heritage, making it one of the two cities in the country to have this honor. Gaziantep is the other city. Mayor Yücel expressed his pride in being one of the two licensed municipalities among nearly 80 countries in the world. He further added that with this license, they are leading the selection process of cities that will become members of the World Culinary Heritage in Türkiye.
New Partnerships
“I would like to emphasize once again the importance we place on gastronomy here,” said Mayor Yücel. He added that the Alanya Municipality will host the Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe Equipment, and Out-of-Home Consumption Products Fair on the 5th to 7th of February at the Friday Market area. The fair will run for three days and is the first of its kind in our city. It will provide a platform for our local tradesmen and many companies from outside the city to showcase their products. “The event will enable one-on-one meetings, providing an opportunity for new collaborations,” he said.
The 8th Gastro Competition
As part of the fair, we will host the 8th Gastro Alanya International Cooking Competition in collaboration with Alanya Municipality and Altın Kepçe Tourism Chefs Association. This competition is considered to be one of the leading cooking competitions in Türkiye and will feature competitors and judges from 16 countries. The event will continue for three days and will include high school, university, and professional chefs, with 450 cooks participating, 95 of whom are from abroad, showcasing their skills. The competition is one of Turkey’s most prestigious cooking competitions and will have representatives from 16 countries. At the 8th Alanya International Cooking Competition, there will be 85 judges, almost 20 of whom are from abroad, who will evaluate the competitors under the supervision of all cities. I would like to invite the people of Alanya once again and thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this event.
